Hey Family.
I am so happy by the news of the new baby girl. She looks very fine and strong. Big, with lots of hair. I loved seeing the pictures of each of you as did those around me. they all said.. "Dat na you mamma an pappa an fambul? De betta pas you." I said.." na true bang bang." ( they said that you all look very good and I agreed)
I hope you have all had a very good week. Things out here have been going pretty good. We have had a very slow week with not too much progress but things are still okay. We were able to have a baptism on saturday which was good. It was for one woman named Yoko and her nephew Omensa. This was a big accomplishment as she is very uneducated and he was very hard to stay around the house. But through the month we managed to work well with them and they were able to make it to their baptism. I am so excited for sister Yoko especially because she is super quiet but over the last week or so I've found out that she actually has a lot of connections in the branch which will be very good to help her feel at ease with everything. It is a big relief not having to worry as much about her not feeling like she fits in. We were lucky the baptism held this week. Once again they fixed the pump and the font so that it would pump and the water wouldn't drain out. We filled it all on friday so that on saturday we could just show up and not have to worry. Well.......... we were wrong. Whoever "fixed" the font didn't really do anything so there was basically no water... At first we couldn't get the pump to work either but then we were able to get it to work... so the baptism was a little post-pone but it happened and all went well.
This week as I talked last week about how we met with President we will be spending a lot more time getting families that stay together that will be available and ready to hear the gospel. We have one family right now, the Quee family. I am super excited for them, we met them once last week due to timing and yet they still came to church on sunday. The wife, sister Fatmata had a good time and experience at church which will be nice to add to helping brother Alex to come more. They seem ready and willing to listen, and commit to letting the gospel into their family reaping the blessings. We will search this week for many more and hope all goes well for us.
Things have been going well for water due to the rain. But now the problem is all the little kids around. Because we don't have a wall around our compound the kids come and play. The play with our pipe that goes from our well to the house to supply water. Well... they broke it. So it looks like it is back to drawing water from the well by hand for the next little bit. O well. Builds character. haha :)
This morning we went on a mouse hunt. We've been tired of all the mice eating everything. We found another family being made in our room but this time it was in between my companions mattress and frame. It was a good thing we got rid of the little ones early because some of them we already a little tricky. It was funny as we were all done with the little hunt(to be continued) the whole house was just scattered everywhere from our searching out their hiding places... these guys are good. But we'll get them all soon.
Well, that is the update for the week. not too much. Sorry for all else that i wasn't able to get to this week, they had us do a questionnaire in preparation for Elder Curtis to come sometime in the near future which will be sweet. But, that took most of the time and we have to get going to get to a family home evening that we are trying to get started amongst a bunch of young men in an area that don't have their families with them. Small small.
